VP of Finance & Accounting

Position Overview:

As the Vice President of Finance & Accounting, you will be a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Directors and investors. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape the financial future of a fast-growing SaaS company. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across all finance and accounting functions, combining technical depth in accounting with forward-looking FP&A capabilities. This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in high-growth environments and is energized by building scalable systems, teams, and processes that support long-term value creation. This is a full-time, in-person position based at our headquarters in Bend, Oregon.

Key Responsibilities:

Liderazgo ejecutivo

  • Contribute as a member of the executive leadership team, helping shape company strategy, organizational priorities, and performance goals
  • Provide financial guidance and thought partnership to fellow executives to drive company-wide alignment and decision-making

Strategic Finance & Business Planning

  • Own financial modeling, forecasting, cash flow planning, and SaaS KPI dashboards (e.g., LTV/CAC, churn, gross margin)
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team on strategic planning, capital allocation, and organizational scaling
  • Prepare and deliver board reporting packages; serve as a key liaison to the board and investors on financial performance, strategic initiatives, and fundraising efforts
  • Partner with the CEO and board to assess strategic growth opportunities and support execution of corporate development initiatives

Accounting Leadership

  • Lead all core accounting operations, including general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, month-end close, and fixed assets
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP; oversee ASC 606-compliant revenue recognition
  • Coordinate the annual financial audit and maintain a strong relationship with external auditors

Operational Finance

  • Manage commission calculations and accruals in alignment with sales compensation plans and GAAP
  • Oversee tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
  • Lead bank relationship management, cash flow monitoring, and credit facility administration
  • Develop and oversee treasury strategy, capital planning, and long-term financial sustainability
  • Evaluate financing and debt options to support company growth and optimize capital structure

Process & Systems

  • Implement and optimize accounting and finance systems (e.g., Intacct, Salesforce, etc)
  • Enhance internal controls, documentation, and workflows to ensure compliance and scalability
  • Drive automation and efficiency through improved tooling and processes

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Support contract reviews to ensure financial and revenue terms are aligned with policy
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to support growth initiatives and pricing models
  • Provide financial insights to support GTM strategy and operational planning

Team Leadership

  • Build and scale a high-performing finance and accounting organization that can grow with the business
  • Define team structure and talent needs aligned with long-term company goals
  • Hire, mentor, and retain a high-performing finance and accounting team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional partnership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA strongly preferred, MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders, including board members and investors
  • SaaS or technology sector experience is required, especially with subscription billing and recurring revenue models
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
  • Proven experience in scaling finance operations and managing audits in a growth-stage environment
  • Hands-on experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Intacct, NetSuite) and financial modeling tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
